Thursday 09th: water temp 67.3 ENE 9-20mph in the a.m. / 69.1mENE 8-17mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were lots of Squid and a few Spanish Mackerel caught. One big Hardtail hit the deck. The Pompano bite was on fire from an hour before until an hour after sunrise with over 50 caught. Sonny, Brenda and several other anglers caught their daily limit. The rest of the day, 100’s of Pompano were schooling through but only a few were willing to bite. A small school of Jack Crevalle came through but no takers.

 

 


Friday: water temp 67.5 E 5-9mph in the a.m. / 70.3 SW 5-9mph in the p.m. If you wanted to catch a Pompano today, you had to be in the water before the crack of dawn. Several anglers either caught their limit or were just a fish shy of their limit. After the sun came up, the bite died. There were only a few Spanish Mackerel caught and some Squid during the day.  


Saturday: water temp 69.4 NE 5-9mph in the a.m. / 70.5 WSW 9-12mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were Squid, a few Pompano, and some Spanish Mackerel caught.


Sunday: water temp 70.0 NE 6-8ph in the a.m. / 72.9 S 9-15mph wind in the p.m. The water was clear. Squid were in during the early morning. There was a good Spanish Mackerel bite. Several anglers met their limit. A few Pompano and Hardtails were decked. Hayden N. decked the third King Mackerel for the season. Cigar Minnows were in.

 

 


 

 

Monday: water temp 70.7 E 8-14mph in the a.m. / 73.4 S 8-12mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Pompano were caught all day. Spanish Mackerel fired-up this afternoon with a few Axe Handles in the mix. Live bait was the ticket for one of the big ones. A visiting angler fed the Barracuda a Spanish and put it on the deck. Dan S. wasn’t satisfied with his limit of Pompano in his first hour of fishing, So, he decked a Cobia to boot. The Speedos were thick with a few Cigar Minnows, Threadfin Herring and Alewives in the mix.

 

 

 

 

Tuesday: water temp 72.2 ESE 11-15mph in the a.m. / 73.9 SW 5-8mph in the p.m. The water was clean. The morning began with a Spanish Mackerel Blitz. Your daily limit was easy to reach. The Spanish bite continued throughout the day, just in waves. Pompano were caught all day, but sporadic. Several anglers met their limit but had to work for it. Speedos, Cigar Minnows, Alewives and Pin fish were available for live bait.

 

 


Wednesday 15th: water temp 73.2 NE 5-8mph in the a.m. / 75.6 W 7-8mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Spanish Mackerel were caught. George caught a 3-lb. Pompano late afternoon.

 

 

 


Red Tide status: INorthwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background concentrations in and offshore of Bay County and in Gulf County.
